One of the characteristics of the human being is that the physical body is surrounded by the skin, which is the interface between the interior of the body and the outside world. In an attempt to apprehend the intangible "skin of the soul," the small Polaroid photographs staged through mixed media techniques offer an interstice wherein this very skin takes form, allowing an exploration both of the interiority unique to each individual and of the imperfection and fragility of the bonds with that which lies beyond oneself.
Each photography tells us a story or deliver a symbolic message. This develops in those who observe it, a whole entangled world of thoughts, ideas, emotions, dreams and memories that allows to discover hidden and unknown parts of themselves.
Some photos are Polaroids, some others are are made of their thin emulsion layer, thin as a veil, reminding us that "We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep." Shakespeare in The Tempest, 1611.

« Science is not a form of art […] but the researcher's results have a poetic power: they reveal the threads that weave our reality, and the mystery that lies at its heart. Art and science have in common that they question the world by making the invisible visible. » Jean-Philippe Uzan (Cosmologist) in Beaux-Arts magazine, Nov. 28, 2017.
Khat was born deaf. Thus, the eye is naturally on the lookout. As a scientist, photographer and poet, fascinated by the poetry of things and beings, she has always been haunted by the question: “What defines a human being?” ".
After having explored the human material by working in scientific research [she has a PhD in Neurobiology], being interested in the human immaterial mind as a therapist, her evolution today leads her to question, through Art , the cartography of the strange philosophical matter that makes up the unfathomable and inexpressible mystery of the human soul.
